    Automate the mechanical parts

    Build the smallest tool that removes the repetition. If the tool is bigger than the chore, it is decoration.

    Measure the result

Why the order matters

Most automation projects start at step four and skip the rest. That is how you get tools that automate the wrong chore, dashboards nobody reads, and products that solve a problem that was never measured. The order is the method.
